Matthew S. Angell is a shareholder in the firm and practices Real Estate Law, Business Litigation, Civil Litigation, Environmental Law, and Financial Elder Abuse.
Mr. Angell works closely with all of The Angell Law Firm, P.C. clients to ensure that their experience with an attorney is not overwhelming and confusing. Mr. Angell believes that people who need attorneys are often confused about the process and would like to understand the legal significance of their situation. Ultimately, the client makes the decision on how to proceed after carefully considering the advice of counsel.
A real estate purchase, whether it is residential or commercial, is often the largest purchase a person will make. Mr. Angell has guided many clients through the maze of purchase contracts, disclosures, leases, and the manner in which the title to the property is held. Additionally, Mr. Angell has a special understanding of how environmental releases can affect the value of a property and the best methods for cleanup of foreign substances.
Business formation is an exciting time for everyone involved. Mr. Angell has been forming companies for over five years and counts many of the business owners he has helped as his friends. However in today's world, sometimes business need help in collecting on a contract it has signed or in defending against a lawsuit. Mr. Angell's business knowledge ensures that individuals or companies have the necessary knowledge of the facts and the law to make an informed decision on what is best for them.
Mr. Angell earned his Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. While in law school, Mr. Angell interned at the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, the Sacramento District Attorney's Office, the Youthful Offender Parole Board, and the Department of Toxic Substances Control under the Assistant Chief Counsel.
Mr. Angell is licensed with the California State Bar and admitted to the United States District Court, Northern and Eastern Districts.
